Cleaning habits to keep your house tidy

Keeping your house tidy daily is not so complicated if you implement a few habits. In fact, it is necessary to keep it in perfect condition and make weekly cleaning much easier. The ideal is to create a series of routines and habits that help you keep things tidy. Make this list every day and you will see how in just a few days, you have internalized it and it is much easier for you to keep your house tidier and for longer.

1. Make the bed when you get up

Remember to make your bed when you get up. This simple task has many benefits, such as boosting your self-esteem and reducing stress. When you return from work, you’ll feel a sense of order and your room will be much more inviting and relaxing. On the other hand, leaving your bed unmade can negatively impact your rest, causing neck pain or back stiffness.

2. Wash the dishes after every meal

If you do this task after every meal and every dinner, you will avoid dirt getting stuck on the dishes and bad smells accumulating in your kitchen. In addition, you will not have to do this task the next morning. Get rid of laziness, and when you finish eating, pick up the dishes and wash them or put them in the dishwasher.

3. Put things away after each use

If you use something, return it when you have finished. It can be difficult when we are busy, but it is a routine that will help you keep your house tidy at all times and, best of all, free of misplaced objects.

4. Give the bathroom a once-over after the shower

It is not about cleaning it like when you do general cleaning. Take advantage of this to put away the towels, remove toothpaste stains from the sink, or quickly wipe the shower screen to remove limescale. Remember that the shower water’s heat will soften the dirt, so it’s easier and quicker to do it then. Plus, you won’t have to go to any lengths to clean the bathroom thoroughly.

5. Pick up the clothes you take off when you get home

It’s common to come home tired after a long day at work, but you can’t just leave the clothes you take off lying around on an armchair in any old way. Ideally, take dirty clothes to the laundry bin, while jeans, a jacket, or a sweater that can be worn several times should be put away in their proper place before going through the laundry.

6. Clean the counter after cooking

If you pick up what you use as you cook, this step will be very easy. With the towel you use to clean the counter, wipe it over the entire surface, paying particular attention to oil or grease stains. There’s nothing more unpleasant than going to prepare breakfast early and finding a greasy kitchen. Also, be careful not to throw crumbs or food scraps on the floor; pick them up with your hand and throw them in the trash. Don’t forget to clean and rinse the towel so that it doesn’t get any bad smells.
