Tips to keep the bathroom clean for longer

We’ve compiled a list of tips to help you clean the bathroom more easily and keep this room sparkling for longer.

Having a good bathroom at home is essential. It is an area that you should always keep clean and disinfected. Let’s look at some top tips for taking care of your bathroom!

You must carry out a daily cleaning

Although logically, it is not in-depth, giving the bathroom a once-a-day review is crucial so that it is mostly clean and does not accumulate too much dirt. Sweeping and mopping, for example, are two things you can do daily and do not take up too much of your time.

Disinfecting is as important as cleaning. Many germs and dirt accumulate in this room, which is why it is essential that you also ensure that it is disinfected beyond cleaning the bathroom.

Prevent the creation of mold by ventilating the humidity

Good ventilation is crucial for the bathroom to remain clean in the long term. Ensure you open the windows after showering so the moisture can escape, and leave the door open. Suppose you let moisture settle in the bathroom like another tenant. In that case, mold will form, the paint (if there is any) will be damaged, and the materials of your furniture (wood or plywood, significantly) will deteriorate.

Bathroom curtains also need to be washed frequently

On the one hand, every time you shower, it doesn’t hurt to rinse to remove any traces of gel or shampoo that may have been left on the curtain. On the other hand, it is necessary to put it in the washing machine, every two weeks is a good time. It is essential to keep the curtains clean because mold tends to accumulate at the base.

The brush is there to be used. You can wipe down the toilet daily with disinfectant, which will keep it clean throughout the week. But the brush itself should also be cleaned frequently because, of course, bacteria and dirt inevitably accumulate there. Soak it for about 10 minutes in water and bleach.

A clean drain with no bad smells. It is common for hair to get caught in the drain, causing blockages in the pipes, which in turn will cause bad smells. To avoid this problem, ensure that nothing accumulates in the drain and pour baking soda and vinegar into this area to clean it thoroughly.

Shiny tiles

With a sponge and the baking soda mentioned above soda, you can make your tiles shine again. A second wipe with a mixture of vinegar and bathroom cleaner will finish removing the most resistant stains.

Polish the shower head. The trick? Soak it in a bucket with water and vinegar. Leave it to soak overnight so that the vinegar can dissolve the accumulated lime. This trick will leave your shower sparkling like the first day!

It’s better to use liquid than bar soap because solid soap dissolves into tiny bits that get stuck in the shower joints and are more challenging to clean.

Spend 5 minutes wiping down the surfaces in your bathroom with a clean cloth. It’ll be easier if, instead of looking for that cloth, you always leave a clean one on one of the coat racks or a dry one in a drawer. If you do this after you take a shower, it’s ideal because everything will be damp, and it’ll be easier to clean. You don’t even need to use a cleaning product, although if you can have one on hand, this routine will be even more beneficial!
